Raised (?) Pie Paste


6 lb Flour
1 lb Lard
1 quart Water
1/2 oz Paste for a pie and same (?) meat
if the left [hot, leaf ?!]

I thought it might be Braised pie at first but I'm sure that's not a B? Maybe it's some sort of layered pastry. I wondered if the bit at the end was saying that you need 1 1/2 oz of this pastry for some meat in the loaf tin (or something like that!). Paste is pastry. I'm about to do puff pastry and pie pastry. ... and Com. Nelson pastry, whatever that is.
